It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery
My name is Brandy and I truly see with the heart. I am an 8 year old blond cocker spaniel and I am totally blind. I lived in a backyard and had a lot of puppies (8 litters at least) and I really couldn’t see much. Then, I had some problems with having puppies (not very many and some of them died), so I ended up just pretty much being ignored. The people brought me into their house to live with them, but after so many puppies, I had a problem leaking urine, so they dumped me at a shelter. It was very loud and confusing and nobody ever looked at me, or played with me. I couldn’t see people coming to look at dogs, so I didn’t try to make them see me or greet them. I was scheduled to die, but then a wonderful lady took me to see the doctor. The doctor discovered I have glaucoma and started giving me medication. It was wonderful because the awful headaches went away and I stopped leaking urine. Now I live in a wonderful home with the nice lady. She has cats, which are ok except they get in front of me and I sometimes run into them. She also has another dog and he is quiet and not very snuggly, which is great because I would much rather spend time snuggling with my people than other dogs. I am a wonderfully affectionate and smart dog. I love to sing a greeting to my people when they come home, I am housebroken, I know some basic social skills, like stay and come, I am spayed (Yay!) and heartworm negative . I am happy to go for walks and I have the most adorable harness. Everyone says I am so cute. But, the nice lady says she is just a temporary mom and that there is a perfect home for me out there, just waiting to hear that I am ready. Do you know where that home is? I am ready to find it.
If you know where my forever home is, you can contact my nice temporary mom at: 512-294-3274 (in Austin, Texas) or email her: michelleburnsmdd@gmail.com
