Garbo

Garbo is doing great.  We love her very much. Every part of her body wiggles at once. We took her to Mt. Bonnell for a hike on Saturday and she loved it. When Garbo first came to us, she cowered a lot, but that has nearly completely subsided. She seems very content to follow our dogs’ lead.

Garbo has not had an accident in the house. However, we are keeping her in a controlled environment. When I am working at my desk and not paying attention, she is kept on a long least under my desk where she mostly sleeps and jumps up for an occasional ear scrubble.

She is free in the home when we are on the couch, cooking or watching TV. She gets lengthy outside time twice daily when we sit on the porch and let our dogs play in the yard. I would say that she is 90% house trained and just needs structure and a diligent, caring owner to complete her training. Like some cockers, she has a small “excitement” pee, but it may be mostly nerves and she will likely outgrow it when she feels loved and secure.

Garbo is doing great at “Fetch” and already understands a firm “no” and we are applying it sparingly to teach her boundaries and rules (face on table, jumping on furniture other than couch, etc). She obeys immediately. THIS DOG IS VERY BRIGHT and could be trained to do a host of things by a loving, patient owner.  ~foster mom, Becky
