Gold Star Program

CSRA recognizes the fact that our senior special needs cocker spaniels are not as easy to place as the young, healthy ones. These special cockers deserve a loving home just as much as their younger or healthier counterparts, but are often listed on the Web site for long periods of time waiting to find that just-right home. To let an adopter know how much we appreciate their adoption of a senior or special needs cocker, CSRA offers the option of paying a smaller adoption fee for our Gold Star Cockers. Here is how this works.

The Program

Any approved home who adopts a Gold Star Cocker will be offered the option of paying a smaller adoption fee. Normally we ask that an adopter pay between $300 and $200 for adoption. With the Gold Star Program, an adopter can consider an adoption fee of $150 to $100. The amount of the donation can be discussed with the adoption coordinator.

Eligible cockers

Our cockers eligible for the Gold Star Program will have a gold star on their photo. These would include:

• Any cocker 9 years old or older.
• Any cocker with special medical needs.
• Any cocker who has been on the Web site for longer than 8 months.
