Joe is only 24 pounds, but he’s big on love and affection. He’s the perfect size for your lap and has a beautiful soft, curly black coat. Joe is house trained and has very good indoor manners. Although he gets along with other dogs okay, he'd love to be only dog in the family.

Since I don't know for sure when he was born, lets say that his birthday is on Christmas, since he's such a gift!! Joe is a people dog, so I would say I am his best friend. He gets along with other dogs, but definitely prefers people. Joe loves to lay at my feet or sit next to me on the sofa. This is where he loves to be petted and belly rubs are definitely his favorite thing. He even likes to get a bath, but I think it's the drying time with the towel that he loves the most. Anything for a belly rub. Joe will eat anything, but I think his all-time favorites are sweet potatoes. In fact, he lets me know when it's 3:30 pm and time for his afternoon treat of raw sweet potatoes slices. He will do just about anything for them!! Joe loves to lay on the corner of my bed when it's bed time. He has to take a couple of stair steps to get up there, but that's where he wants to be for the night. If for some reason he gets down and can't find his way back up the 3 steps, or just doesn't want to take the time to get up the steps, he wakes me up by howling, so I'll pick him up and put his back on the corner of the bed, so he can finish his evening of blissful dreams. Joe's least favorite thing to do is to get his ears cleaned, but unfortunately with Cocker Spaniels that a necessity. I try to be as careful as I can and he sits through it without a growl-but he definitely gives me a dirty look. ~Marlene, foster mom
