My name is Kyra, and I have been on this page far too long and I simply don't understand it, given I am THE perfect dog. But because I have one itty-bitty problem (more on that later) no one gives me a chance. Let me tell you first why I am so perfect: As you can see, I am beautiful. I am house-trained. I am about 4-5 years old so I'm past all those horrendous puppy problems. I am good with children. I am good (actually great) with other dogs and with cats. I am quiet unless I need to tell you something. I sleep quietly in a crate. I am not destructive – I don't even eat kleenex! I like walks and I like to play outside but once I'm inside I'm quiet, well-behaved and enjoy being loved and loving you back. And, I'm a female! What more can anyone possibly want?

Now, my one itty-bitty problem, and it really is an itty-bitty problem, is that I have something called Mega-esophagus. But my foster mom says it must be the mildest case of Mega-E known to dogs. I don't take any meds and I don't regurgitate very much at all and it only takes three small guidelines to be sure I don't. Those are: Feed me food that has been softened in water and is a mush, keep me in my special chair for 30 minutes after I eat breakfast and dinner (very easy to do as I get in on my own, look adorable sitting in it, and am quiet and patiently wait until I can get out), and don't let me eat anything other than my special diet. I get honey in a boiled bone for a crate treat, I can and do love to chew on deer antlers, and I wear a basket muzzle outside so I don't eat things I find on the ground, like acorns. See, very simple. And in return for your helping me with those safeguards you get a perfect dog!  (Leander)
