Update: July 3, 2012
Great news!! Thor's surgery went well and he DID NOT have a hernia, they were all lipomas! They are not concerned at all about malignancies, in fact, they aren't even sending any samples to be biopsied. Thor got approximately a trillion staples and does look like a frankendog. He was really glad to get home and stumbled around drunk wagging his tail. He's already tried to lick, so on the donut goes.
Thanks for everything,
Lara (foster mom)
PS That orange towel is the bed I set up for him to keep him from oozing on the rug. He'd rather ooze on the rug, thankyouverymuch.

We're nervously awaiting our surgery date (a week from today), but I'm also starting to feel like it's the best thing to do. Dr. Lewis recommended that we remove the three large lumps Thor has on his stomach/groin, chest/armpit, and tail. He suspects that Thor might have hernias, and is concerned about possible tumors. The lump on Thor's stomach/groin area lately seems bigger and seems even more tight. I really hope this surgery can help our little friend.
He still has lots of fun on walks and loves to go outside and play ball. He stoically tolerates baths but LOVES getting brushed. And he sure can "saw some logs" when he's done playing.
