Fidget

Maybe Fidget needed to be named Switch. He is either showing you his athletic youthful energy or wants to snuggle up next to you. He adores a great game of fetch -- pretty much any activity that allows him to show off his athletic abilities! Fidget is a 2-year-old working field spaniel. What does that mean? He wants to work for you and please you. This includes chasing other animals, if given the chance, such as birds(near and far), a squirrel, rabbit or anything that leaves a scent for him to track. His high senses for retrieval led his foster mom to add a Chuckit ball launcher to their daily activities to increase his running - he LOVES bringing the ball back for treats. (We are working on the training to do this without the bribe). Speaking of training, Fidget must have had minimal training (probably none) before being rescued. Because of his energy and high prey instincts, CSRA enrolled him in a month-long obedience private training. When he's had training sessions, he did SO well focused on what was asked of him. As a "teenager" pup, he still wants to test if you’re in charge. You’ll want to stay the alpha in the relationship, and he will surprise you with his skills, intelligence and bonding. Fidget does well at doggie daycare once a week and when he walks in the neighborhood, he likes to greet other dogs that also appear approachable. Fidget loves children and is probably safer with older children and not toddlers or babies. His high energy and excitement may frighten or unintentionally cause harm to them. After working with Fidget, we also don't think is would be best for Fidget or his new family to test him off leash or live with cats or other small pets. Interested in adoption?
