We've been waiting awhile to say this one but.. I am Groot. This sweet guy has had such a tough row to hoe, he really needed all the Guardians in the Galaxy. When he first came to us, he had the cocker spaniel double whammy: heartworms and REALLY bad ears. His heartworms were treated and then he had to under go double total ear canal ablations (TECA) surgeries. If you don't know what that is, it's where the ear canals have become calcified after prolonged ear infections. At that point, the only option is to remove the ear canal and sew the ear shut. It does mean that the dog can no longer hear (though some retain some partial hearing), but it frees them from pain. Well, Groot weathered it all like the hero he is. He is around 9 years old and he has so much love to share. He loves to be close to his people for snuggles and pets. He wasn't housetrained at all at first, but has progressed to being crate trained and juuuust about there on he housetraining (he does wear a belly band). We'd love for this guy to find his furever family. How can anyone not love this face? Interested in adoption? our adoptions require an approved application which you can find on our website.
